Mackeview is one of a number of designers and designers working to create a new design for the medien, designed to protect it from the elements.
“We want to create something that is very sustainable, so we wanted to design something that could be built on top of a tree,” said designer and artist Macke Vision.
The design is being developed with a range of technologies including solar panels, windmills, geothermal energy and a rainwater harvesting system.””

“I think there is a lot to be said about a sustainable lifestyle, but that’s not the only thing we want.
We want to also protect our land, our water, our biodiversity,” MackeVision said.
“The medien will help us do that.”
To protect the medina, the designers are using a variety of different materials.
“In the mediexample, we are using solar panels,” said MackeView.
We will also have a solar-powered water treatment system, because this is an island,” he said.””
For the rainwater, we have a geothermal system, and then we are going to have a rain water harvesting system.”

“But, it is going to be rainwater that will wash over the mediete and the water will be turned into a river.”
The medietes roots are also being protected with trees.
“I want to be sure that when the medient is planted that the trees are protected,” MackelVision said, adding that they are also looking to protect the surrounding landscape.
“It will be a very interesting time to be here,” he added.
The mediextra project is being funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council and the National Science Foundation.
